Όσκαρ 2021: Ανακοινώθηκαν οι short-lists για 9 κατηγορίες

Όσκαρ 2021: Η Αμερικάνικη Ακαδημία Κινηματογράφου ανακοίνωσε τις short-lists για τα 93α Όσκαρ σε 9 κατηγορίες: Ντοκιμαντέρ μικρού και μεγάλου μήκους, Διεθνούς Ταινίας,  Make Up and Hairstyling, Τραγουδιού, Πρωτότυπης Μουσικής, Μικρού Μήκους Live- Action και κινουμένων σχεδίων και Οπτικών Εφέ

Από τις πρώτες short-lists των Όσκαρ 2021 προκύπτουν ορισμένα ενδιαφέροντα συμπεράσματα. Αρχικά από την κατηγορία καλύτερης διεθνούς ταινίας απουσιάζει η ελληνική συμμετοχή και τα «Μήλα» του Χρήστου Νίκου, παρά τις εκτιμήσεις. Στη συνέχεια, επιβεβαιώθηκε η συμμετοχή των φαβορί, η Δανία με το «Another Round» του Thomas Vinteberg, η Γουατεμάλα με το «La Llorona» του Jayro Bustamante και η Βοσνία – Ερζεγοβίνη με το «Quo Vadis, Aida?» της Jasmila Zbanic.  Έκπληξη αποτέλεσαν οι συμμετοχές του Χονγκ Κονγκ και της Τυνησίας με τις ταινίες «Better Days» του  Derek Tsang και το «The Man Who Sold His Skin» της Kaouther Ben Hania αντίστοιχα.

Στα ντοκιμαντέρ αξίζει να σημειωθούν τα «Welcome to Chechnya» του David France, το «All In: The Fight for Democracy» των Lisa Cortes και Liz Garbus, το «The Painter and the Thief» του Benjamin Ree και το «Dick Johnson Is Dead» της Kirsten Johnson.  Στην κατηγορία της μουσικής ξεχωρίζουν ο Thomas Newman για τη δουλειά του στο «Τhe Little Things», ο  Alexandre Desplat για το «The Midnight Sky», o James Newton Howard για το «News of the world» ενώ οι Trent Reznor και Atticus Ross είναι υποψήφιοι δύο φορές, για τη δουλειά τους στο «Mank» και το «Soul», με συνυποψήφιο τον Jon Batiste.

 Οι τελικές υποψηφιότητες θα ανακοινωθούν στις 15 Μαρτίου. Τα 93α Όσκαρ θα διεξαχθούν στις 25 Απριλίου 2021.
