Μια μουσικο-χορευτική παράσταση, όπου χορευτές του εξωτερικού εμπνέονται από την ελληνική μουσική παράδοση. 4 χορεύτριες συγκεντρώθηκαν στη χώρα μας από τα 4 σημεία του ορίζοντα για να πραγματοποιήσουν μια έρευνα και να παρουσιάσουν μια παράσταση. Το Less Is More θα πραγματοποιηθεί σε συνεργασία με τους μουσικούς Σωκράτη Βότσκο και Γιώργο Καλαμάκη, και εμπνεόμενη από την Ελληνική μουσική παράδοση και ρυθμούς. Ολόκληρη η ζωντανή σύνθεση ξεκινά από το περπάτημα, το τρέξιμο και την χορευτική συνάντηση επί σκηνής. Κάθε παράσταση θα αποτελεί μια μοναδική συνάντηση στον χώρο, τον χρόνο και τους ανθρώπους που παίρνουν μέρος σ’ αυτήν. Σας προσκαλούμε να βιώσετε αυτήν τη μοναδική στιγμή.

Η ∞therside είναι μια ελεύθερη συλλογικότητα χορευτών από ολόκληρο τον κόσμο οι οποίοι μοιράστηκαν ένα μήνα εντατικής εμβάθυνσης στην τεχνική του Passing Through με τον David Zambrano. Εμπνευσμένοι από τη συγκεκριμένη τεχνική και την δυνατότητα που προσφέρει για συμμετοχή και διασύνδεση με τον χώρο και τους άλλους, ένας αριθμός χορευτών βρέθηκαν στην Μπρατισλάβα της Σλοβακίας το καλοκαίρι του 2018 για να διερευνήσουν και να παρουσιάσουν μαζί μία παράσταση. Ανέπτυξαν έτσι τον δικό τους προσωπικό τρόπο να εκφράσουν τις δυνατότητες της ομάδας και τη σύνδεση του κάθε ατόμου με το σύνολο. Αυτήν τη χρονιά 4 χορεύτριες θα συναντηθούν στην Ελλάδα για να μοιραστούν την κοινή και προσωπική τους δουλειά με την ομάδα και την ελληνική κοινότητα και να παρουσιάσουν μια παράσταση σε συνεργασία με Έλληνες μουσικούς με την χρήση της στιγμιαίας σύνθεσης. Θα δημιουργήσουν μια καινούρια γλώσσα, ανάλογη της ομάδας και της στιγμής.

Less Is More | ∞therside collective
27-28 September 2019 | Studio 29A, Thessaloniki
A dance-music performance, where dancers from abroad get inspiration from traditional greek music/sounds. 4 dancers came from all over the world to research and perform. Less Is More will take place in collaboration with the musicians Socratis Votskos and Giorgos Kalamakis, and inspired by the Greek traditional music and rhythms. The live composition starts with walking, running and meeting each other in stage. Every performance is a unique meeting between space, time and the people involved. We invite you to experience this unique moment!

∞therside is a loose collective of dancers from all over the world who shared a one month Passing Through Intensive with David Zambrano in 2017. Inspired by that practice and the opportunity it gives to share and connect with space and the others, some of them met in Bratislava (SK) a year later to practice, research and perform together. They developed their own way to express the group`s potential and the engagement of each individual within the group. This year 4 dancers are meeting in Greece to share their common and personal work with the group and the Greek community and perform with Greek musicians by instant composition. This is all about creating a language which fits the group and the situation at hand.

BIO
Francesca Caselli (IT) is dancing in DNA dance company (Elisa Pagani, Italy). She practices Improvisation and get inspired by Contact Improvisation, Qi Gong and Deep Touch (shiatsu principles into mouvement). She teaches in Italy and shares her improvisation research called La Scelta Del Corpo. She danced in Astinentia, piece by Giovanni Scarcella in 2017; with DiA Junior company (Harleem, Netherlands) and Iuvenis Danza (Verona, Italy). She studied professionally contemporary dance in Auditorium ballet (Greta Bragantini) first and then in Scenario Pubblico (Roberto Zappalà). She took part in Le fate, first modern reproduction of the Ristori Baroc Opera and in Dance Grammar, piece made by Roy Assaf during Biennale College Danza in 2014 (Venice). Sarah Chien creates improvised works with collaborators from dance, music, circus and theatre. Based in Brooklyn, New York (USA) her recent work has been presented through festivals like DanceNow at Joe’s Pub, Triskelion Arts’ Never Before Never Again, Performance Mix, and Insitu Dance Festival. Her touring solo show, Songs Stuck in My Body, uses dance, storytelling and song to explore childhood memories that no longer fit. She is also the producer/curator of ¡Spontaneous Combustion! a performance party series featuring all-improvised performances on a homemade rooftop dance floor. She approaches improvisation as a way of revealing more of the self, and uses the language of improvisation as a way to foster dialogue across artistic disciplines.
Vicky Angelidou (GR) is a dancer and choreographer living on a Cumulus cloud between Greece and the Netherlands. Her creations, influenced by her studies in Dance, Public Space and Psychology, are right at the intersection of the human landscape and abstraction with a stress on emotional resonance. Keenly empathetic with a profound interest in public space and its dynamics, she is drawn to the road less or rarely travelled in her performance ingredients and artistic expression.
Susanna Grob (CH) is a dancer, performer, pedagogue and shiatsu student with a philosophical background. She is based in Berne (CH) and often to find in Berlin (DE). Susanna is a member of TAIMcollective (DE) and co-founder of the company augumohr (CH). At the moment she is mostly interested in researching, teaching and performing in the field of instant composition – influenced by other ideas such as Passing Through, Dancing Qigong or Axis Syllabus.
