Μοίρα, οργή και Royale With Cheese ! Ας δέσουμε τη ζώνη μας, καθώς το Pulp Fiction διαθέτει την ικανότητα να μας ενσωματώσει στη χαοτική ενέργεια που λαχταράμε, διότι ποιος δεν επιθυμεί να ακούει αποσπάσματα από τη Βίβλο την ώρα που τρώει ένα λαχταριστό χάμπεργκερ, περιμένοντας να πεθάνει ;
Τι είναι το Pulp Fiction; Φανταστείτε έναν χαμογελαστό, αιματοβαμμένο εκτελεστή, να γέρνει πίσω σ΄ ένα vintage κάθισμα αυτοκινήτου και να λέει την ατάκα: « You see, this profession is filled to the brim with unrealistic motherfuckers. Motherfuckers who thought their ass would age like wine.» Κλασικός Ταραντίνο, που συνδυάζει τη μοίρα, τον θάνατο και το σκοτεινό χιούμορ σαν έναν τέλειο κοκτέιλ pulp noir.
Αυτή και μόνο η ατάκα σε προϊδεάζει για το τι επρόκειτο να ακολουθήσει. Διάλογοι που μοιάζουν με φιλοσοφική γροθιά στο στομάχι και μια συμφωνία χάους μέσα στην ανατροπή και την αδρεναλίνη. Κανείς δεν μπορεί να ξεχάσει το πως η ατάκα του Μαρσέλους Γουόλας «Fuck pride. Pride only hurts, it never helps…», φάνηκε ιδιαίτερα χρήσιμο να παρακαμφθεί όταν ο Γουόλας έπεσε στην ανάγκη του Butch Coolidge.
Οι χαρακτήρες που λαμβάνουν συνήθως την απέχθειά μας, στα έργα του Ταραντίνο μεταμορφώνονται σε ερωτεύσιμους αντιήρωες, που θα έδινες τα πάντα για να βρεθείς μαζί τους έστω για ένα φτηνιάρικο γεύμα στο Jack Rabbit Slim’s, ακούγοντας την επική ατάκα: «All right, everybody be cool, this is a robbery!» Το μόνο σίγουρο είναι πως αυτές οι «ταραντινο – βόλτες» είναι άγριες και ωμές.
